These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcilazo clinches up with Fight Team and pushes him back against the cage. Fight Team stalling in the clinch but Garcilazo improves position. Fight Team leaning against his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by GameBred Fight Team. Garcilazo pushes Fight Team up against the cage in a clinch. Garcilazo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fight Team regains guard immediately. Fight Team looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. GameBred Fight Team hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A looping hook to the body misses from Fight Team. Garcilazo does a little dance to reset his feet. Garcilazo clinches. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Fight Team.
Garcilazo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Garcilazo wants to stand but Fight Team is controlling his arm. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Garcilazo tries to get to his feet but Fight Team is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Garcilazo in his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fight Team has Garcilazo pulled in close to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fight Team fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Garcilazo checks it well. Garcilazo has Fight Team up against the cage in a clinch.

Garcilazo wants the takedown. Fight Team is fighting it off but Garcilazo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fight Team's guard against the cage. Dre Garcilazo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dre Garcilazo. Garcilazo closes the distance and clinches. The referee is keeping an eye on Fight Team - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Garcilazo turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Garcilazo manages to end up in side control. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Fight Team tries to buck Garcilazo off but Garcilazo is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcilazo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Garcilazo has taken the fight to the clinch.

Garcilazo wants the takedown. Fight Team is fighting it off but Garcilazo persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Fight Team's guard against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fight Team wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Garcilazo wants to stand and escape but instead Fight Team has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
