The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maimer tries to bum rush Hasan with a series of wild strikes but Hasan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hasan gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Maimer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A jab from Maimer does it's job there.
It looks like Hasan Hasan has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hasan misses with a takedown attempt
and Maimer counters with a three punch combo that has Hasan backing up. Hasan nods at Maimer to acknowledge the strikes.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hasan Hasan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hasan is breathing heavily.
Hasan seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Maimer shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Hasan is backing up but Maimer catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Hasan covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Maimer Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hippo Maimer! Hippo Maimer retains his super heavyweight title!
