The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meadows is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Elvin shoots in and gets a takedown into Meadows's guard.
Meadows working for submissions but it's allowed Elvin to get to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Meadows can do anything to dispel that myth.
Meadows is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Elvin scores with a couple of nice shots.

Meadows really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Elvin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Elvin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Meadows with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Meadows is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Elvin scores with a couple of nice shots.
Elvin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Elvin passes the guard and advances to mount!
Elvin tries to push Meadows's head away but Meadows is holding on tight.
Elvin is landing with some decent strikes but Meadows is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Meadows is trying to escape the mount.
The referee warns Meadows that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

BOOM! Elvin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Elvin has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Meadows's face.

Elvin postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Meadows bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Elvin and the fight is over!
