Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dwight Moody! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andreas Riffel! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riffel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moody as he avoids it easily. Riffel doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Moody to counter with a crisp jab. Riffel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Riffel lands in his opponent's guard. Moody wants to stand up but Riffel is controlling him. Moody tries to land a sweep but no joy. Moody looking to control.

Riffel tries to free his leg and advance position but Moody is retaining full guard. Riffel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We're going to have a standup here because Dwight Moody wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Moody lands a jab to Riffel's midsection. No joy there for Moody, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moody fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Riffel looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Moody closes the distance and lands a one-two. Moody wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Riffel looks for a takedown but Moody sprawls well. Dwight Moody has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andreas Riffel. Riffel with a poor takedown and Moody counters with a series of strikes. Riffel will be more careful next time no doubt. Moody works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Riffel walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Riffel fails to land the takedown. Moody lands a nice leg kick that just misses Riffel's sensitive parts. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Moody has Riffel up against the cage in a clinch.

Riffel keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moody's efforts to push away. Moody working some nice short punches in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moody breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Riffel misses with a takedown attempt and Moody counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Riffel with a poor takedown and Moody counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Nice uppercut lands for Moody. That snapped Riffel's head back.
Moody is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Riffel fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Moody is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Riffel shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Moody as he jumps to the side. Moody jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Riffel with a lazy takedown attempt and Moody counters with a nice uppercut. Moody lands with a cross. Riffel shoots in for a takedown but Moody shows good takedown defense. Moody with a nice cross.
Riffel is rocked! Riffel displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Moody throws out the jab. Riffel is still on wobbly legs! Can Moody finish him? Riffel misses with a takedown attempt and Moody counters with a right hand from hell and Riffel is out cold! A vicious knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dwight Moody! Dwight Moody retains his middleweight title! An out of breath Dwight Moody thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
