Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maxi Alonso!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alonso shoots in but Van Diep avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Van Diep tries to clinch up
and Alonso counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Alonso got a little sloppy there for a moment and Van Diep has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Alonso has managed to get both his arms back between Van Diep's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Diep is controlling Alonso's posture.
Van Diep working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alonso doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alonso manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Van Diep wants to stand up but Alonso is controlling him.
Van Diep is trying to keep Alonso in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maxi Alonso was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Van Diep counters with a left and a right that stings Alonso.

Alonso tries for a takedown but Van Diep circles away easily
and Van Diep holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Thijs Van Diep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxi Alonso.
Van Diep swings wildly with an uppercut but Alonso uses good head movement to avoid it.
With the fighters up against the cage, Van Diep throws an elbow but misses.
Alonso breaks the clinch.

and Alonso holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Alonso turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Alonso manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Van Diep counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Alonso rushes Van Diep and presses him up against the cage.
Alonso drops down looking for an ankle pick but Van Diep pulls his leg out and moves away.
A nice inside leg kick there by Alonso. That's going to slow Van Diep down.

Alonso scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Van Diep doesn't seem bothered though.
Alonso shoots in but no luck this time.

Alonso throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Van Diep's waist but Van Diep gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alonso off to one side.

Alonso has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Van Diep is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Van Diep crunches a lovely knee into Alonso's ribcage.
Alonso has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Van Diep clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Van Diep can't escape the position.

A close second round but Maxi Alonso will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Alonso shoots in looking for a takedown but Van Diep manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alonso's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Van Diep will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Alonso up against the cage.

Alonso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Van Diep tries to avoid it but Alonso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Van Diep to the ground. Van Diep escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Alonso shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Van Diep as he jumps to the side.
Van Diep throws a body kick that misses.
And that's the end of the fight!
Thijs Van Diep showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Alonso has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
