Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Athletius Athletar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Tommy ! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tommy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tommy showed some decent athleticism there. Athletar looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Tommy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Athletar's head. Tommy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Tommy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tommy wants to work for an arm triangle but Athletar is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tommy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Tommy is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Athletar defends it well. Tommy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Athletar sees it coming and defends easily. Tommy seems to be looking for submissions.
Athletar tries to roll over but Tommy keeps him under control. Athletar has his hands clasped together around Tommy 's back. He's all about the action. Tommy trying to control from half guard but Athletar is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tommy thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Athletar is defending against the submission attempts here by Tommy .
Athletar wants to get back to full guard. Tommy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Tommy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Athletar keeps working. Athletar wants to improve his position but Tommy is controlling well.
Athletar won't allow Tommy to pass to mount. Tommy scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Athletar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tommy . That's two minutes gone in the round. Athletar is in trouble now - Tommy has advanced to mount! Tommy misses with a head shot. Tommy with the ground and pound from mount. Athletar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Athletar tries to get out of the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tommy looking to control but Athletar is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Tommy misses with a head shot. Tommy looking to finish Athletar with some ground and pound. This is bad for Athletar! Tommy gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Tommy fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Athletar fails in his attempt to clinch. Athletar tries to close the distance and clinch but Tommy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tommy tries to bum rush Athletar with a series of wild strikes but Athletar uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Tommy pushes Athletar up against the cage in a clinch. Tommy tries to break the clinch but Athletar is controlling the position. Tommy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Athletar shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tommy napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Athletar in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Tommy wants to control but Athletar postures up. Athletar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tommy on the ground. Athletar postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Tommy avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Athletar. Tommy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Athletar off and has taken his back! Tommy looking for the RNC. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tommy looking for the choke but no joy. Athletar is trying to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tommy has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Athletar is in real trouble here. Tommy gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Athletar is tapping out! Tommy wins by rear naked choke!
