Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between dave mastain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waleed Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malik has chosen Enae Volare Mezzo as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, dave mastain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Waleed Malik!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik cracks the inside of mastain's front leg.
Waleed Malik seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good leg kick by Malik there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
mastain shoots in and bounces Malik off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
mastain stands and throws Malik's legs to the side, diving into side control.
mastain tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no mastain has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Malik struggling a bit here.
Malik is trying to get back to half guard.
mastain moves into full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round.
mastain trying to control but he's not successful this time.
mastain working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Malik is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
mastain wants to take Malik's back but he can't do it this time.
mastain trying to control but Malik is having none of it.
mastain thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
mastain is working for a guillotine from mount but Malik frees his head quite easily.
mastain jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Malik manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
mastain has hold of Malik's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Malik tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - mastain cranks the arm and Malik screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Malik, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). dave mastain!
