Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bart Lefloer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masayuki Kono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kono pushes Lefloer up against the cage in a clinch.
The referee calls for Kono to work.
Lefloer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kono gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lefloer is trying to drag Kono to the mat but Kono just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Lefloer swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Kono manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kono looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lefloer trying to control the position from guard on top but Kono is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kono bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lefloer's guard.

Lefloer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kono stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lefloer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kono tries to move to mount but Lefloer blocks the move with his legs.
Kono connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Lefloer some visible discomfort.
Lefloer is trying to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You can see the frustration on Kono's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Lefloer has the hooks in. Kono is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Kono is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lefloer scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Kono is looking for a way out.
Kono tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Kono wants to control but Lefloer is having none of it.

Lefloer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kono is now in Lefloer's guard. A big mistake from Lefloer there, giving up the dominant position!

Lefloer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kono has picked Lefloer up and slammed him! Lefloer can't keep hold of the triangle and Kono manages to pass to side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kono tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Lefloer is trying to control Kono's posture but Kono avoids it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kono closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kono lands in his opponent's guard.

Lefloer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kono dives on top into guard.

Lefloer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kono controls the pace.

Lefloer working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kono doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kono manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kono really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lefloer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
