Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonathan Goldsmith! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Goldsmith scores to the head and body with a nice combination! A combination from Jackson does no damage. Jackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A punch combination from Goldsmith misses. Jackson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Goldsmith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson throws a right hand that Goldsmith ducks under and follows up with a left that Goldsmith also avoids with ease. Goldsmith is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson misses with a few strikes there.
Jackson throws a series of punches but Goldsmith avoids them all with ease. Jackson misses the shot to the body. Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Goldsmith. Jackson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Goldsmith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goldsmith stopping the sweep attempt from Jackson. Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Goldsmith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Goldsmith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Goldsmith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Goldsmith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Goldsmith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from. Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Goldsmith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Goldsmith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jackson has his feet on Goldsmith's thighs here. He's pushed Goldsmith off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Goldsmith screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
