The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Vexler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Vexler cracks Ward with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Ward is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Ward is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!

Geoff Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vexler might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Well Vexler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
