The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lobaton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mellark.
Lobaton slips under a jab.
Lobaton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mellark throws out the jab.
Mellark throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mellark is looking to clinch but Lobaton is avoiding it.
A telegraphed right hand from Mellark misses the target.
Lobaton thuds a left hand into Mellark's body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lobaton.
A shot to the liver by Lobaton. Beautiful body shot.
Mellark tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Lobaton paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Mellark misses with a straight left.
Mellark swinging wildly here.
Lobaton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mellark jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Mellark is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lobaton lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lobaton.

Lobaton misses with a wild body shot.
Mellark throws a looping overhand right but Lobaton ducks down to avoid it.
Lobaton throws the left hand but Mellark avoids the punch easily.
Lobaton scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mellark doesn't seem bothered though.
Mellark checks a leg kick nicely.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lobaton lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mellark has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mellark and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Mellark is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Mellark drives through and clinches with Lobaton against the ropes.
Mellark lands with a right to the head.

It looks like Ronald Lobaton has been cut.
Mellark lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Lobaton backwards.
Mellark throws a punch but it's blocked by Lobaton.
Mellark lands an elbow just above Lobaton 's eye.

Lobaton misses with the head strike.
Mellark has a couple of punches blocked by Lobaton.
A head punch on the inside from Lobaton fails to land.
Lobaton stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Mellark just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lobaton's brow.
Lobaton swings wildly with an uppercut but Mellark uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lobaton's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Lobaton misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Mellark lands a hook to the side of the head.

That has opened up Ronald Lobaton's cut even more.

Mellark lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Lobaton takes an elbow to the temple.
Lobaton misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lobaton misses with some punches.
Mellark has a couple of punches blocked by Lobaton.
Lobaton tries a body shot but Mellark blocks it.

Still in the clinch, Mellark cracks Lobaton with a big elbow that drops him to the floor! Great elbow by Mellark! Will Lobaton beat the count? 2,3,4,5 - he's back up on 5 and seems OK to continue. Back to the action!

The cut above Ronald Lobaton's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ronald Lobaton's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
