Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ted Scheckler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gideon Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Scheckler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gideon Gabriel! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gabriel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Scheckler counters with a flying knee. Nice. Scheckler lands a head kick. Gabriel smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Gideon Gabriel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scheckler checks the leg kick. Scheckler throws a leg kick which misses Gabriel's front leg but catches the back leg as Gabriel tries to avoid it. Gabriel misses with a series of wild punches.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gabriel throws a series of punches but Scheckler avoids them all with ease. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gabriel misses with a leg kick. Gabriel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Scheckler lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Scheckler closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gabriel quickly recovers to half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Scheckler is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gideon Gabriel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gabriel throws a nice looking combination but Scheckler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gabriel wants to hold on but Scheckler pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Scheckler throws a lazy right hand but Gabriel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A nice inside leg kick there by Scheckler. That's going to slow Gabriel down. Scheckler shoots in for a takedown but Gabriel shows good takedown defense.

Gabriel feints and then cracks Scheckler's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Scheckler down. Gabriel tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Gabriel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Scheckler back to the cage. Gabriel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gabriel takes one on the button. Scheckler lands a leg kick that knocks Gabriel off balance momentarily. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Scheckler moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Scheckler tries a head kick but it misses.
Gabriel does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ted Scheckler will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Scheckler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gabriel has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Gabriel throws a body punch but Scheckler moves out of range. Scheckler throws an overhand right that lands on Gabriel's shoulder, as Gabriel tries to avoid the shot. Gabriel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Scheckler circles away quickly and effectively. An inside leg kick from Gabriel misses. Gabriel throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Scheckler decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gabriel's guard. Gabriel looking for a sweep. Not yet Gabriel, not yet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Scheckler wants to control from the top but Gabriel keeps moving. Gabriel wants to stand and escape but Scheckler is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gabriel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Scheckler controls the pace. Gabriel trying to control the position.

Scheckler shoots in for a double leg but Gabriel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Gabriel's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gabriel checks a leg kick. Gabriel wants to land a leg kick but Scheckler is out of range. A leg kick checked by Scheckler. OK we're going to have a standup here. Gideon Gabriel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Scheckler clinches up with Gabriel and pushes him back against the cage. Scheckler blocks a body shot from Gabriel. Scheckler pulls guard successfully.
Ted Scheckler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Scheckler is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Scheckler controls Gabriel momentarily but Gabriel frees himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Ted Scheckler showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Scheckler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
