Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ball comes to the cage accompanied by Hammer Smashed Face. Taylor has chosen New York - Empire state of mind as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Ball! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jackson Taylor! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ball shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Taylor manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Taylor looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor wants to improve his position but instead Ball has moved into half guard.
Ball not landing any meaningful shots this time. Taylor regains full guard. Nicely done. Ball connects with a couple of short punches. Taylor working a defensive guard here.
Ball trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Taylor has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ball throwing strikes from guard but Taylor blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor is trying to control the position but Ball postures up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Taylor's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ball connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Taylor scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like Jackson Taylor has been cut. Ball moves out of range as Taylor strikes. Ball scores with a nice head shot. Ball closes the distance and pushes Taylor back into the cage. Taylor turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Taylor manages to end up in side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! You can see the frustration on Ball's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Taylor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ball keeps working. Taylor tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Taylor decides to stand back up. Ball throws a half hearted mid kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ball throws a sloppy head kick and Taylor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ball throws a hook but Taylor blocks it. Taylor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ball looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Taylor lands with a nice combination. Ball backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Joe Ball has been cut. Ball ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Taylor moves away. Taylor has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Taylor there as he acknowledges the shot. Ball drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Taylor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ball has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ball stopping the sweep attempt from Taylor. Taylor is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ball is aware though and is defending well. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Taylor is on top in guard.
Taylor in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ball trying to keep a closed guard but Taylor is proving a slippery customer.
Taylor is fighting to break Ball's control of his arms but Ball is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Ball manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ball lands a big shot there that rocks Taylor but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ball raining down hammerfists from mount. Taylor tries to hold on but Ball pushes him away. Taylor tries to reverse the position but Ball maintains control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ball wants to control the pace but Taylor is squirming around nicely. Ball prevents Taylor from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor tries to hold on but Ball pushes him away. Ball can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Taylor is looking to escape. Ball lands a big elbow. Ball working the ground and pound effectively.
Ball is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Taylor goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Ball!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joe Ball!
