Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nova Summer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyrone Doherty!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doherty fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Summer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Doherty sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Summer somewhat.
Summer walks into a jab.
Doherty scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Nova Summer has been cut.
Summer gets tackled into the cage by Doherty. Doherty maintains the clinch.
Doherty lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Doherty lands a left hand that snaps the head of Summer backwards.
Doherty lands with a light punch inside.
Doherty lands an elbow inside that Summer shrugs off.
Doherty lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Summer or not.
Doherty manages to break the clinch.
Doherty shoots in looking for a takedown but Summer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Doherty's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Summer with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Doherty misses with a takedown attempt - Summer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Summer gets control of Doherty's arms and successfully pulls guard. Summer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Summer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Summer content to control rather than advance.
Doherty is trying to get back to full guard.
Summer slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Summer wants to stand but Doherty has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Summer passes to side control.
Doherty takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Summer is looking to take a break and control but Doherty is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Doherty is looking to regain half guard here but Summer keeps moving and retains side control.
Summer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Doherty to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Doherty lands a couple of elbows.
Doherty postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Doherty is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Summer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Summer has escaped and now he's on top!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Doherty shoots in for a takedown but Summer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Summer tries to close the distance and clinch but Doherty swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Summer lands a nice looking kick to the body. Doherty takes a step back to recover.

A punch lands to the side of Summer 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Summer avoids a wild elbow strike from Doherty.
Doherty wants to break free but Summer has control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Doherty isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Summer stacks Doherty on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Summer!

Summer is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Doherty will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Summer is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Doherty is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Doherty really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Summer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Summer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Doherty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Summer lands punches and elbows.
Summer working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Doherty is doing well to defend. Summer seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Doherty is forced to tap and this one is over!
