PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Lodin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mr Woo was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mr Woo!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lodin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Woo.
Lodin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Woo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lodin scores with a nice head shot.
Woo dodges the punch combination from Lodin.
Woo has a takedown stuffed.
Lodin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Woo.
Woo misses with a double jab.
Woo avoids the body shot from Lodin.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Woo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lodin - the referee stops the clock and Woo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lodin. Woo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Lodin lands with a nice body punch.

Lodin moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Woo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lodin.
Woo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lodin.
Lodin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Woo was well out of range. Poor timing from Lodin.

and Woo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

With the fighters up against the cage, Lodin throws an elbow but misses.
Lodin digs a right hand into Woo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Woo's gas tank.

Lodin tries to work over Woo's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Lodin scores with a nice hook to the head.
Lodin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Woo backwards.
Lodin lands an elbow that stopped Woo in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Mr Woo has been cut.

Lodin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Lodin breaks the clinch.
Lodin throws out a loose jab but Woo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lodin. Woo shrugs it off though.

Lodin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Woo moves away.

Lodin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lodin clobbers Woo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Woo misses with a two punch combination.
Woo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lodin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Frank Lodin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Lodin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Woo is out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Woo has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Lodin.
Lodin lunges at Woo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Woo's hand.
Lodin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lodin lands a big head kick that sends Woo tumbling to the mat! Lodin takes a step backwards and waves Woo back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Woo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

A looping hook to the body misses from Lodin. Woo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Woo seems to have recovered his senses.

Lodin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Woo.
Woo gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Lodin gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
