Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Heist Vans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Romulo Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vans tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mendes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vans tries to clinch up.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mendes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vans defends it nicely.
Mendes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vans sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mendes somewhat.
Heist Vans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romulo Mendes.
Vans throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mendes dives in and scores a takedown into Vans's guard.
Mendes with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mendes trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Vans keeping moving, preventing Mendes from controlling successfully.
Vans is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Mendes advances position into side control!
Vans looking for a sweep but Mendes has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Mendes looking to control and managing it successfully.
Vans tries to hold on but Mendes pushes him away.
Mendes thowing shots but they're missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendes stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Heist Vans is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Vans leaves Mendes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mendes has a takedown stuffed.
Mendes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vans's waist but Vans gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendes off to one side.
Vans lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mendes backs up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vans rushes Mendes and presses him up against the cage.
Mendes blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Vans prevents the takedown attempt.
Vans manages to pull guard.
Vans looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mendes has picked Vans up and slammed him! Vans can't keep hold of the triangle and Mendes manages to pass to side control!

Mendes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Vans manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mendes is refusing to be controlled, as Vans sits in half guard.
Vans seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Mendes has recovered full guard.
Vans trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Vans being controlled here momentarily.

Mendes looking for a triangle here. Vans is fighting it but it looks tight! Mendes pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Vans is tapping out - this one is all over!
