Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carl Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dun Fighten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dun Fighten! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Fighten as Chan shoots in. Fighten fails with a takedown attempt. Chan fails with a takedown attempt. Fighten shoots in for a double leg but Chan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Fighten moves into the clinch successfully.
Chan throws a punch but it's blocked by Fighten. Chan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Fighten. No joy for Chan on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Chan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fighten tries a head kick but it misses.
Chan tries to close the distance and clinch but Fighten swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Chan tries to clinch up but Fighten circles away and keeps his distance. Fighten shoots in for a takedown but Chan shows good takedown defense. Fighten looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chan wants it to stay on the feet. Chan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Fighten is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fighten is defended easily by Chan. Fighten looks gassed! Chan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fighten. Chan dives in and grabs Fighten's left leg, looking for a takedown. That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Chan looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Chan lands a leg kick that knocks Fighten off balance momentarily. He's pushed Chan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Fighten is controlling Chan's position as best he can from this difficult position. Chan tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fighten avoids it. Fighten has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Chan tries to circle away but Fighten has him pinned against the cage. Chan letting Fighten take a breather here. Fighten tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Chan as Fighten tries to tie him up. Chan pulls guard successfully.
Fighten postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Fighten gets to his feet - Chan follows without any prompting. Chan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Fighten keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Fighten fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Chan, pushing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fighten has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Chan digs a right hand into Fighten's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Fighten's gas tank. Chan is trying to stall.
Fighten lands a hook that snaps the head of Chan backwards. Fighten has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chan after a bit of a struggle. Fighten prevents a body shot from Chan. Chan looking to throw knees to the head but Fighten is blocking nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Fighten tries to break free but Chan pushes him back against the cage. Fighten is trying to push Chan away but Chan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Chan fails to pull guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Dun Fighten. I think Fighten has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
