The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todorov tries to bum rush Nate with a series of wild strikes but Nate uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Liam Nate seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Todorov is on top in guard.

Nate is looking to stand up but Todorov isn't so interested in that idea.

Nate scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Todorov looks to score with a jab to the body but Nate is just out of range.

Todorov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nate is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Todorov is controlling him well.
Nate takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Todorov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
