PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sang Min Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sadaho Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sang Min Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sadaho Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda avoids the head kick by Kim.
Maeda punishes Kim's body with a nice straight punch.
Maeda connects with a leg kick. Kim looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Kim tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kim misses with a low kick.
Maeda dodges the punch combination from Kim.
Kim misses with a low kick.
Maeda pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kim shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maeda's guard.
Maeda keeping moving, preventing Kim from controlling successfully.
Maeda looks gassed!

Kim has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kim slips nicely into half guard.
Kim is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maeda won't allow Kim to pass to mount.
Kim is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Maeda!
Kim throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Kim breaks from Maeda's wrist control and lands an elbow.


It looks like Sadaho Maeda has been cut.
Kim connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kim lands a heavy elbow.
Kim throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kim lands with some strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim controlling from mount.
Kim lands a big shot there that rocks Maeda but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kim throwing strikes here but Maeda is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Maeda takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Maeda is rocked!


That has opened up Sadaho Maeda's cut even more.
A big strike lands for Kim! That's really hurt Maeda and he's turned his back - Kim keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Kim jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sang Min Kim!
A relieved looking Sang Min Kim thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
