Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Austin Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Beau Flores! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flores's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Williams connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Flores scrambles back to his feet. Williams misses with a straight right. Decent striking displayed by Williams there. Flores moves out of range as Williams strikes. Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Flores sees it coming and avoids it easily. Williams throws a chopping leg kick but Flores manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Williams misses with a wild body shot. Flores ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Flores just misses with a punch to the body.
Williams scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Austin Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flores on the wrong end of a nice jab. Flores pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A slow jab from Williams misses its intended target. Williams scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Flores misses with an uppercut. Flores displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab. Williams dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Williams lands a right hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flores takes one to the side of the head.
Williams lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Flores misses with a few strikes there.
Williams smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Williams throws a combination. Flores tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Flores attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Flores keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Williams. Williams avoids the head kick by Flores.
Williams thuds a left hand into Flores's body. Williams lands with a right hand. Williams is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Williams throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Flores sees it coming and avoids it easily. Flores moves away from the strike by Williams. Williams sizes up Flores with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Williams cracks Flores with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Flores is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A slow jab from Williams misses its intended target. Flores is still on wobbly legs! Can Williams finish him? Williams pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Williams throws a hook but Flores blocks it. Flores ducks under a wild hook from Williams. Williams misses with a straight left. Williams closes the distance looking for a takedown. Williams picks Flores up and slams him brutally to the floor. Flores is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Austin Williams! Austin Williams tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
