Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor comes to the cage accompanied by Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Avila.
Avila misses with a low kick as Connor jumps back.
Connor takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Avila lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Connor has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Connor and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Tommy Avila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Avila feints and then cracks Connor's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Connor down.
Avila walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Connor checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Connor is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Avila in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
