Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Cornwall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Sinclair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ken Cornwall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ian Sinclair! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sinclair shoots in looking for a takedown. Cornwall tries to sprawl out of it but Sinclair keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cornwall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Cornwall throws a right hand that Sinclair ducks under and follows up with a left that Sinclair also avoids with ease. Sinclair closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Sinclair content to control rather than advance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sinclair looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cornwall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cornwall slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cornwall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sinclair doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sinclair manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cornwall is looking for a triangle but Sinclair pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinclair throws a big right hand that misses. Sinclair passes Cornwall's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sinclair trying to mount his opponent but Cornwall defends it. Cornwall gets back to full guard.
Sinclair won't allow Cornwall to sweep him here. Sinclair wants to pass the guard but Cornwall is keeping the position. Cornwall looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Sinclair works a leg free and moves into half guard. Cornwall has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sinclair is working away from the top position though. Cornwall slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sinclair drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sinclair jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sinclair looks gassed! Sinclair postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Sinclair trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cornwall is trying to control the position but Sinclair postures up. Sinclair wants to pass the guard but Cornwall is keeping the position. Cornwall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sinclair manages to get himself to full guard.
Cornwall is pushing down on Sinclair's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sinclair is fighting to maintain full guard but Cornwall has managed to sneak the leg through. Cornwall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Cornwall is trying to control the action in half guard but Sinclair is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sinclair regains full guard. Nicely done. Cornwall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cornwall drops back looking for a leg! Sinclair is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sinclair manages to kick Cornwall off! Cornwall jumps back into Sinclair's guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sinclair shoots in but Cornwall avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cornwall connects with a single shot there. Cornwall swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cornwall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cornwall listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. A big left from Cornwall misses. Sinclair shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ken Cornwall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Sinclair. Sinclair takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Cornwall scores with a body shot.
Sinclair has a takedown stuffed. Cornwall shoots for a takedown but Sinclair saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cornwall lands a with a good body shot. Cornwall throws a jab but it's blocked by Sinclair. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Cornwall dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Cornwall tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sinclair tries to free his leg and advance position but Cornwall is retaining full guard. Sinclair throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sinclair trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cornwall wants to sweep here but Sinclair controlling him for the moment. Sinclair pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cornwall is keeping the position for now. Sinclair is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cornwall lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sinclair backs up against the cage.

Sinclair Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cornwall's back instead. Cornwall turns into Sinclair and is now in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sinclair escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cornwall gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. That was a close second round but I would say that Ken Cornwall will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Cornwall throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sinclair. Horrible takedown by Cornwall or perhaps it was just good defense by Sinclair which made him look bad. Sinclair tries for a takedown but Cornwall circles away easily and Cornwall counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sinclair won't be happy with that. Cornwall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sinclair keeps working. Sinclair tries to bench press Cornwall off him but Cornwall keeps the position. Cornwall is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sinclair has escaped the position, nice work there. Cornwall thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sinclair is not content to let Cornwall control the position. Sinclair parries the strikes from Cornwall easily there. Cornwall is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sinclair to escape.
Sinclair is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Cornwall's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sinclair is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cornwall pulls his head out easily. Cornwall performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Sinclair regains full guard. Nicely done. Sinclair escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cornwall gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cornwall won't allow Sinclair to sweep him here. Cornwall stands and throws Sinclair's legs to the side, diving into side control. Sinclair is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Cornwall trying to control the action but Sinclair is working from the bottom. Cornwall works to advance to full mount. Sinclair defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Ken Cornwall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cornwall has hold of Sinclair's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sinclair manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cornwall wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Sinclair avoids a series of strikes thrown by Cornwall.
