Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Earls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Earls comes to the cage accompanied by Tommy Gun. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Earls! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kent Russell! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Earls swats away the attempt to clinch by Russell. Earls takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Earls moves into the clinch. Earls just leaning against Russell, taking a breather. Russell swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Earls tries to score a body lock takedown but Russell shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Earls stalls. Russell misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Earls slows down the pace here.
Russell tries to pull guard but Earls holds him up against the cage and eventually Russell drops back down to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Russell pushes off an throws an elbow but Earls leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Earls could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Russell lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Nick Earls has been cut. Earls prevents the takedown attempt.
A bit of stalling here from Earls.
Earls has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Russell is trying to keep an underhook but Earls manages to get the takedown into half guard. Russell is defending against the submission attempts here by Earls.
Earls is looking for a kimura but Russell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Earls to get the leverage. Earls wants to work for an arm triangle but Russell is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Russell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Russell is refusing to be controlled, as Earls sits in half guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Earls throws a left and a right that both miss
and Russell counters with a big head kick but Earls shrugs it off. Earls is breathing heavily. Russell staying out of range there. Earls wants to clinch up but Russell keeps it at a distance. Russell throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Earls fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Russell is out of range. Earls wants to clinch. Russell doesn't manage to clinch there - Earls circles away.
Russell wants to clinch and Earls counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Earls wants to pass the guard but Russell is keeping the position. Earls is pushing down on Russell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Russell is fighting to maintain full guard but Earls has managed to sneak the leg through. Earls trying to pass the guard but Russell defending well. Russell wants to improve his position but Earls is controlling well.
Earls looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Earls thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Russell moves into full guard.
Earls has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Russell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Earls!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Russell throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Earls has his hands clasped together but Russell breaks the hold and Earls is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Russell!
