Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Star just misses with a punch to the body.
Star tries to bum rush Neponen with a series of wild strikes but Neponen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Star stuns Neponen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Star throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Neponen throws a right hand that misses
and Star counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Star.
Star throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Neponen tries to break the clinch but Star is controlling the position.
Neponen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Star has him pressed against the cage.
Neponen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Star lands a hook to the side of the head.
Neponen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Star cracks Neponen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Star moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Neponen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Neponen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Neponen counters with a head kick. That will keep Star thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Neponen dives in and scores a takedown into Star's guard.
Star is looking to stand up but Neponen isn't so interested in that idea.
Neponen throws a big elbow that misses.
Neponen throws a strike but Star rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Neponen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Neponen trying to keep a closed guard but Star is proving a slippery customer.
Star controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Let's hope that Star has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A frustrated look appears on Neponen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Neponen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Star breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Neponen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Star moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Neponen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Star.

Neponen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Neponen moves forwards but Star connects with a nice, crisp jab.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Neponen lands a nice looking body kick.
Neponen clobbers Star with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Star throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

and Star connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Neponen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Star.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Star lands a left and a right that send Neponen crashing to the mat, dazed. Star thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Neponen is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Star throws a right and a left that Neponen avoids nicely.
Oh Neponen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Neponen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Tommi Neponen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Star blocks a head kick by Neponen.

Neponen throws a wild body kick that Star sees coming a mile off.
Neponen walks straight into a right hand from Star - that's dropped him! Star jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Neponen from any more punishment! Neponen complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
