Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mroczny The Nightmare! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miyamoto Pain! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pain gets a double leg takedown into The Nightmare's guard. Pain has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of The Nightmare is proving hard to escape from. Pain is fighting to break The Nightmare's control of his arms but The Nightmare is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The Nightmare preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pain tries to stand but The Nightmare is controlling from the bottom. The Nightmare keeping moving, preventing Pain from controlling successfully. The Nightmare has his hands on Pain's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pain shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pain showed some decent athleticism there.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Nightmare works his way to full guard. Good work. The Nightmare looking for a sweep. Not yet The Nightmare, not yet. The Nightmare keeping moving, preventing Pain from controlling successfully. Pain is fighting to break The Nightmare's control of his arms but The Nightmare is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. The Nightmare looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pain is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Nightmare is pulling down on Pain's head to control his posture. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. The Nightmare not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mroczny The Nightmare wasn't doing enough on the ground. A leg kick checked by The Nightmare. The Nightmare avoids a punch combination nicely.
The Nightmare fails with a takedown attempt. Pain drives through with a takedown into The Nightmare's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pain postures up.
The Nightmare pulls Pain in close to his closed guard and prevents Pain from doing any damage or advancing position. The Nightmare not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mroczny The Nightmare has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Pain closes the distance and pushes The Nightmare back into the cage. Pain pulls guard successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The Nightmare won't allow Pain to get back to his feet. Pain is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and The Nightmare defends well. Pain looks gassed! The Nightmare stays in close to Pain's body and controls the position. The Nightmare trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The Nightmare passes Pain's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The Nightmare passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pain! The Nightmare takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Miyamoto Pain will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
The Nightmare shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Pain counters with a thumping low kick. The Nightmare bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The Nightmare tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no The Nightmare has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pain wants to control but The Nightmare postures up. The Nightmare is looking to take a break and control but Pain is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mroczny The Nightmare overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The Nightmare has hold of Pain's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pain seems comfortable defending it but The Nightmare has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pain is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pain is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but The Nightmare couldn't care less - he's delighted!
