The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lesner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Proudman quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lesner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lesner seems to be working for a kimura but Proudman defends the submission attempt.
Lesner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Proudman is just riding it out for now. Lesner eventually gives up the hold.

Lesner is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Proudman sees it coming and defends easily.
Lesner passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Proudman!

Lesner jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Proudman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Proudman and Lesner has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Lesner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Proudman has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Proudman!
