Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Purcell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jordan Purcell!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight gets a takedown into half guard.
Knight content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Knight really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Knight is trying to control the action in half guard but Purcell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Knight tries to pass the half guard into mount. Purcell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Knight is working hard here to advance position.
Purcell moves into full guard.
Knight wanted to stand there but Purcell had control of the position.
Purcell keeping moving, preventing Knight from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Purcell striking off his back but it's not causing Knight any problems.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Knight throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Knight moves out of range of the body kick from Purcell.
A head kick misses from Knight.
Purcell tries to clinch but Knight is having none of it.
Purcell avoids the head kick by Knight.
Purcell throws a sloppy head kick
and Knight counters with a head kick. That will keep Purcell thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Knight lands with a kick to the temple. Purcell shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Purcell.
Alex Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Purcell.

Whack! Knight lands a heavy head kick that drops Purcell. The ref tackles Knight to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Purcell was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Alex Knight!
