Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Velazquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Bixby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Trevor Bixby!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velazquez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Velazquez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Trevor Bixby has been cut.
Velazquez getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Velazquez throws a hook but Bixby blocks it.
Bixby changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A swing and a miss from Velazquez.
Velazquez lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Shane Velazquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bixby lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Shane Velazquez has been cut.
Bixby pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Velazquez misses with a hook
and Bixby counters with a head kick. That will keep Velazquez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Velazquez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bixby is looking to clinch but Velazquez is avoiding it.
Bixby uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Velazquez.

Bixby is looking to slow Velazquez down with leg kicks.

Velazquez slips under a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circle momentarily. Velazquez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bixby keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Velazquez.
Bixby connects with a solid leg kick.
Bixby tries a head kick but it misses.
Bixby throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Velazquez's head.
No joy there for Bixby, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Velazquez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bixby on the side of the head.
Bixby walks straight into a right hand from Velazquez - that's dropped him! Velazquez jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Bixby from any more punishment! Bixby complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
