Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis comes to the cage accompanied by Fight Music. Escobar has chosen Cute Without the E as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Murilo Escobar! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lewis throws the kick towards the body but Escobar avoids it. Escobar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lewis.
Escobar is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Escobar tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch. Lewis with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Lewis manages to break the clinch.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown but Escobar shows good takedown defense. Escobar fakes the leg kick and cracks Lewis in the body. Lewis closes the distance and clinches up with Escobar, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes Escobar against the cage but Escobar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Escobar shoots in and bounces Lewis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Escobar sitting in guard here, content to control. Escobar must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis working for a triangle but Escobar defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lewis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Escobar manages to get himself to full guard.
Escobar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lewis is controlling him. Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Escobar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lewis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Escobar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lewis slips nicely into half guard. Escobar moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lewis throws a strike but Escobar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Escobar wanted to stand there but Lewis had control of the position. Lewis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Escobar is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lewis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Escobar's back instead. Escobar tries to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis gets his hands free as Escobar looks to control. Escobar is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Lewis working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Lewis working for a choke but Escobar is defending well. Escobar covering up well and avoiding damage. Lewis is persistently looking for the submission but Escobar is defending it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis doesn't have the hooks in and Escobar manages to turn into his guard.
Lewis keeping full guard, as Escobar tries to pass. Lewis keeping moving, preventing Escobar from controlling successfully. Lewis could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Lewis working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Escobar has passed into half guard!
Lewis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Escobar is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Danny Lewis will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Lewis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Escobar tries for a takedown but Lewis circles away easily and Lewis counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Escobar is lucky that one didn't land flush. Lewis jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Escobar's waist but Escobar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side. Lewis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Escobar has a takedown stuffed. Danny Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murilo Escobar. Lewis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lewis is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Escobar has his hands clasped together but Lewis extends an breaks Escobar's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lewis.
