Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remi Beauvais!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Maven!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beauvais throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maven.

Maven shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Maven postures up.

Maven thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Beauvais knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maven on the ground.
Maven working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Maven is stalling in the full guard.

Maven stands up from Beauvais's guard - Maven perhaps looking for a knockout.

Maven throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Beauvais throws a right and a left that Maven avoids nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Beauvais looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Maven tries a head kick but it misses.
Beauvais closes the distance but Maven moves to the side

and Maven counters with a single leg into guard. Beauvais didn't expect that.
Maven lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Maven distracts Beauvais with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Maven decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Beauvais, up you get!

Beauvais is squirming around, avoiding Maven's attempts to control the action.

Beauvais defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Maven.
Maven lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Maven has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Beauvais's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Maven tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Beauvais on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Beauvais tries to get out of the position.
Beauvais tries to lock up and control but Maven gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maven prevents Beauvais from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Maven dominated that round.

Maven stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Beauvais is not content to let Maven control the position.

Maven looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Beauvais is looking to get back to his feet here but Maven is keeping cool and he's managed to take Beauvais's back.

I would not like to be Beauvais right now.

Maven is persistently looking for the submission but Beauvais is defending it well.

Maven is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Beauvais is defending well though. Maven let's go of the attempt for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Maven has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Maven is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Beauvais is tapping out! This one is all over!
