Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hurrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Marcino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Hurrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Marcino! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcino works over Hurrell's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Jake Hurrell has been cut. Hurrell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marcino's waist but Marcino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hurrell off to one side. Hurrell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hurrell wants it to stay on the feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hurrell is defended easily by Marcino. Hurrell throws a right hand that Marcino ducks under and follows up with a left that Marcino also avoids with ease. Marcino pushes Hurrell up against the cage in a clinch. Hurrell tries to circle away but Marcino has him pinned against the cage. Marcino manages to break the clinch.
Hurrell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Hurrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hurrell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marcino to score an easy takedown into full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hurrell working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcino showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Marcino must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hurrell looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Marcino tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hurrell is able to avoid easily. Marcino throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hurrell throws a hook to the side of Marcino's head but Marcino sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Hurrell tries to clinch up but Marcino circles away and keeps his distance. Hurrell has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marcino closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hurrell circles away. Marcino gets in close and instigates a clinch. Marcino is looking to take this one to the mat. Hurrell looking for a takedown. Marcino drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marcino kicks Hurrell off and gets to his feet. Hurrell throws a body kick that misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Hurrell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. This has been an exciting period of action! Marcino fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hurrell wants to clinch enabling Marcino to counter with a crisp jab. Marcino avoids the head kick by Hurrell.
Hurrell is breathing heavily. Hurrell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Marcino looks for a takedown but Hurrell sprawls well. Hurrell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marcino, pushing him back against the cage. Marcino jumps guard and drags Hurrell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hurrell is fighting to break Marcino's control of his arms but Marcino is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurrell looking to pass the guard. Hurrell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hurrell throws a body punch but Marcino moves out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hurrell misses with a body shot.

Rocky Marcino dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jake Hurrell's cut. That's time! Hurrell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Marcino is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hurrell sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hurrell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice sprawl there from Marcino as Hurrell shoots in. Jake Hurrell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hurrell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marcino sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hurrell somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Hurrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marcino stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marcino wants it to stay on the feet. Hurrell shoots for a double leg takedown but Marcino sprawls well. He's pushed Hurrell's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Marcino closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Marcino pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Marcino has Hurrell up against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Marcino gets control of Hurrell's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marcino will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Marcino had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hurrell defends it easily. Hurrell stopping the sweep attempt from Marcino. Marcino throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Marcino has his hands on Hurrell's head, controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurrell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marcino is keeping the position for now. Hurrell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Marcino has Hurrell pulled in close to control his posture. Hurrell is looking to stand up but Marcino won't let him.

Rocky Marcino has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Marcino drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Marcino trying to control but Hurrell is working from the bottom. Marcino decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Marcino shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marcino was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Marcino lands a big elbow. Hurrell is trying to reverse the position but instead Marcino has taken his back - oops! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marcino keeps control of the position easily here as Hurrell tries to buck him off.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurrell is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Marcino is persistently looking for the submission but Hurrell is defending it well.
Marcino has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hurrell has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marcino controlling from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Marcino showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jake Hurrell's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Marcino shoots in looking for a takedown. Hurrell tries to sprawl out of it but Marcino keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hurrell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hurrell throws a head kick that misses. Marcino fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hurrell fails with the takedown. Hurrell blocks a head kick by Marcino.
Marcino tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hurrell was well out of range. Poor timing from Marcino. Marcino shoots in for a takedown but Hurrell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jake Hurrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rocky Marcino. Marcino fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hurrell, pushing him back against the cage. Marcino jumps guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marcino looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Hurrell stopping the sweep attempt from Marcino. Marcino has an active guard here but Hurrell has managed to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurrell advances to half guard. Marcino makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Hurrell tries to clinch up and Marcino decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hurrell's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hurrell looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Marcino works his way into side control. Marcino has knee on belly and moves into mount. Marcino lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Hurrell is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Marcino lands with some strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hurrell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Rocky Marcino comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Marcino has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
