Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dexter Dalit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicholai Sweed! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dalit scores with a one two! Sweed had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Dalit tries to keep at a distance but Sweed has taken the fight into the clinch. Sweed changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dalit fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Dalit misses with a few strikes there.
Dalit shoots in for a takedown but Sweed shows good takedown defense. Sweed slips a jab and a cross from Dalit.
Dalit misses with a takedown attempt - Sweed sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Dalit throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sweed. Dalit looks to land a combination but Sweed avoids it well. Dalit shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sweed as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dexter Dalit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dalit throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Nice sprawl there from Sweed as Dalit shoots in. Some wild striking there from Dalit.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dalit shoots in looking for a takedown. Sweed tries to sprawl out of it but Dalit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sweed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Dalit looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Dalit tries to free his leg and advance position but Sweed is retaining full guard. Dalit is working hard here to advance position. Dalit forces his way into half guard. Dalit is working for a kimura but Sweed is defending it quite comfortably.
Sweed looking for submissions off his back. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sweed can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dalit is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dalit passes to side control. Dalit tries for a kimura but Sweed is defending well. Dalit is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sweed has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sweed manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Sweed misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Sweed is looking to control Dalit's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sweed avoid being mounted? Dalit is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sweed is just riding it out for now. Dalit eventually gives up the hold. Dalit works his way into side control. Sweed tries to bench press Dalit off him but Dalit keeps the position. Dalit wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sweed, who protects the arm well. Dalit is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sweed has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Sweed's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sweed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dalit. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dalit tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dalit thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sweed is looking for a sweep. Dalit tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dalit has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dexter Dalit dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dalit throws a series of punches but Sweed moves out of range. Dalit misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dalit looks to score with a jab to the body but Sweed is just out of range. Dalit scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Dalit closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sweed circles away. Dalit misses with a double jab.
Sweed walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Dalit shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice takedown defense from Sweed. No joy for Dalit on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dexter Dalit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dalit fails with a takedown attempt. Dalit throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Dalit does no damage. Sweed stuffs the takedown attempt from Dalit. Dalit gets slowly back to his feet. Dalit closes the distance and clinches up with Sweed, looking for a takedown. Dalit pushes Sweed against the cage but Sweed circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dalit misses with a wild combination.
Dalit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Dalit wants to pass the guard but Sweed is defending well. Sweed makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sweed. Sweed wants to sweep but no luck. Dalit advances position into side control! Dalit in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Sweed is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
