Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Jones! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Kerr, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Kerr against the cage but Kerr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kerr instigates a clinch. Kerr is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jones can't fight it off and eventually Kerr manages to take the fight to the floor. Jones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kerr showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kerr defends well. Kerr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Kerr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kerr throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kerr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kerr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kerr content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kerr is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kerr looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily. Kerr looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kerr pushes Jones off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Jones tries to clinch but Kerr moves away and Kerr counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kerr postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kerr stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kerr shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones leaves Kerr with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jones fails with the takedown and Kerr counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones wants to stand but Kerr is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there. Kerr stands up. Jones is looking to clinch but Kerr is avoiding it.

And that's the end of the fight! Mark Kerr showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kerr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
