Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cosek Czort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Deane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Czort closes the distance and clinches.

Deane decides to pull guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Deane working for submissions but it's allowed Czort to get to half guard.

Czort looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Czort is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Deane has managed to free his arm - good work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Deane can do anything to dispel that myth.

Deane escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Czort gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Czort is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Deane to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Deane shrugs it off.
Deane is desperately trying to improve his position but Czort has a good base and remains in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Czort is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Deane is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cosek Czort.
