Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Spizer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Warner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doug Warner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Spizer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Doug Warner!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Warner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Spizer to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Warner looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Spizer working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Spizer has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Warner is proving hard to escape from.
Spizer distracts Warner with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Warner working for submissions but it's allowed Spizer to get to half guard.

Spizer stands up from half guard.
Spizer scores with a nice right hand.


It looks like Doug Warner has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Spizer fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Warner to the ground. Spizer is now in Warner's guard.
Spizer forces his way into half guard.
Spizer not doing much here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spizer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Warner won't allow Spizer to pass to mount.
Warner wants to get back to full guard but Spizer has passed into side control.
Spizer in side control, just content to control the action for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Spizer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Warner has escaped the position, nice work there.
Spizer happy to just control the position for now.
Spizer trying to control the action but Warner is working from the bottom.
Warner trying to remain calm as Spizer controls from the top position.

Spizer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Warner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Spizer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Warner to his feet.

Spizer rushes Warner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Warner is trying to force a seperation but Spizer has the dominant position.

Spizer gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Spizer escapes and gets back to his feet.
Warner tries for a takedown but Spizer circles away easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Spizer moves into the clinch.

Spizer pulls Warner into guard.
Spizer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Warner on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Warner trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Spizer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Warner looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Warner is in a horrible position here. Spizer smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Spizer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Doug Warner's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Spizer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Warner sprawls well initially but Spizer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Warner actively working from the bottom here.
Spizer wants to take a breather but Warner is having none of it.

Spizer decides to return to a standing position.

Spizer dives in and scores a takedown into Warner's guard.

Warner looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Spizer passes into half guard.
Spizer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Spizer is taking a breather. Warner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nice strikes from Spizer there.
Spizer works his way into side control.
Spizer tries to move to mount but Warner blocks the move with his legs.

Spizer is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Warner is trying to escape and Spizer transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Warner is forced to tap! Nice work there by Spizer! Very nice indeed!
