Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nancy Botwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisuke Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Botwin comes to the ring accompanied by Little Boxes On The Hillside. Suzuki is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stranglehold by Ted Nugent. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nancy Botwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisuke Suzuki! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Suzuki crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Botwin - the referee stops the clock and Suzuki gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Botwin. Suzuki manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Some wild striking there from Suzuki.
Botwin lands a front kick. Suzuki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A swing and a miss from Suzuki. Suzuki moves out of range of the body kick. Suzuki scores with the left hand. Botwin knows he should have avoided that one. Botwin throws a body punch but Suzuki moves out of range. Botwin darts in and clinches Suzuki up against the ropes. Suzuki stalling the fight.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Suzuki takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Daisuke Suzuki has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Suzuki lands a shoulder strike. Suzuki has hold of one of Botwin's legs. Botwin is fighting the takedown attempt but Suzuki gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Botwin is looking to sweep but instead, Suzuki has passed into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suzuki is keen to just control but Botwin is a slippery customer. Botwin is trying to get back to full guard. Botwin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Suzuki. Botwin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Suzuki pulls his head out easily. Suzuki is nestled in close to Botwin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Suzuki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Botwin keeps working. Suzuki not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Botwin is pressing down on Suzuki's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Suzuki sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suzuki scoring with some ground and pound. Botwin has momentary wrist control but Suzuki slips an elbow through the middle. Suzuki trying to control but Botwin is working from the bottom. Botwin looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Suzuki throws an elbow that misses. Botwin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Suzuki's guard. Nice move by Botwin! Suzuki working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Botwin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Suzuki keeping moving, preventing Botwin from controlling successfully. Suzuki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Botwin is aware though and is defending well. Suzuki looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Botwin preventing the sweep. Botwin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Suzuki's guard. Suzuki trying to hold on to Botwin's head to control him but Botwin postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Suzuki wants to improve his position but Botwin is controlling well.
Botwin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Suzuki knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Suzuki is not content to let Botwin control the position. Botwin slips a nice elbow through Suzuki's hands, connecting with Suzuki's forehead. Suzuki wants to control but Botwin is keeping busy.
Botwin is pressing down on Suzuki's thigh, looking to free his foot. Suzuki is holding on for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Suzuki looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Botwin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Daisuke Suzuki will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Daisuke Suzuki's cut. That's time! Botwin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Suzuki jabs Botwin to the body, keeping him at a distance. Suzuki dives in and scores a takedown into Botwin's guard. Suzuki looking to pass the guard. Suzuki has gone for a leg lock! Botwin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Suzuki's guard. Suzuki has his foot on Botwin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Botwin works his way back into a safe position though. Botwin is pushing down on Suzuki's leg trying to pass to half guard. Suzuki is fighting to maintain full guard but Botwin has managed to sneak the leg through. Botwin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Suzuki gets back to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Suzuki looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's one minute gone in the round. Botwin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Suzuki is trying to control the position but Botwin postures up. Suzuki working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Botwin. Botwin advances to half guard. Botwin trying to control from half guard but Suzuki is working away. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Suzuki trying to control but Botwin postures up.
Botwin wants to free his trapped foot but Suzuki is holding on for dear life with his legs. Suzuki actively working from the bottom here. Daisuke Suzuki has got the better of the ground game so far. Botwin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Botwin misses with a head shot. Suzuki uses the momentum to regain guard. Suzuki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Botwin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Suzuki is tightening it up a little... Botwin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Botwin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Botwin taps out! Nice BJJ there by Suzuki!
