Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicky Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rufus Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by sex money and murder. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill slips under a jab.
Fernandez slips a jab and a cross from Hill.
Fernandez lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hill closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Fernandez checks a leg kick.
Hill misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fernandez shoots in and bounces Hill off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fernandez advances to half guard.
Fernandez escapes and gets back to his feet.
Hill looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and Fernandez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rufus Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fernandez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hill napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hill is trying to get back to his feet.
Fernandez throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Fernandez decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hill to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hill gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fernandez.

Hill displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fernandez.
Fernandez lunges at Hill with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hill's hand.
Fernandez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rufus Hill is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fernandez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hill sprawling to the canvas! Hill rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Fernandez finish him?!
Hill is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hill falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fernandez counters with a huge left! Hill is in big trouble! He's backing up but Fernandez isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Hill from any more damage. A dominating finish by Fernandez!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicky Fernandez!
