Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Makounchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Errol Field (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makounchi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, rolling go. Field is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Best of Sakuraba. The key to victory for Ippo Makounchi has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makounchi works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Makounchi throws a nice looking combination but Field bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Makounchi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Field.
Field shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Makounchi as he avoids it easily.
Makounchi throws a right hand that Field ducks under and follows up with a left that Field also avoids with ease.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Makounchi!
Field shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Makounchi pinned against the ropes. Makounchi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Makounchi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Makounchi throws a series of strikes that have Field backpedaling.
Makounchi jabs Field to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Makounchi lands with a good body shot.
Makounchi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Makounchi throws a series of punches but Field avoids them all with ease.
Makounchi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ippo Makounchi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters circle momentarily. Makounchi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Makounchi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Makounchi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Makounchi throws a front kick aimed at Field's knee but Field avoids it well.
Makounchi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Makounchi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Makounchi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
A lazy left from Makounchi finds it's target.

Ippo Makounchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Errol Field.

Field fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Makounchi sprawls well initially but Field persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Field controlling the pace.
Field is nestled in close to Makounchi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Field is trying to control. Makounchi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Makounchi is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Field is working for a submission of some sort.
Field is trying to control the action in half guard but Makounchi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Field seems to be looking for submissions.
Makounchi wants to get back to his feet.
Field has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Makounchi defend it? Field steps over the head and cranks it - Makounchi is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Field!
