The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Magalhaes tries to kick Pierre off but Pierre keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Pierre looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Magalhaes with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Magalhaes has hold of Pierre's hands but Pierre slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Oh Magalhaes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pierre is nestled in close to Magalhaes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pierre lands a big elbow - Magalhaes is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Pierre!
