Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jared Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasta Farian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasta Farian will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rasta Farian!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curtis thuds a left hand into Farian's body.
Farian changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Farian jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Curtis shoots for a takedown but Farian saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Curtis walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Farian misses the jab.
Curtis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Farian circles away.

Curtis has closed the distance and engaged Farian in a clinch.
Farian wants to break free but Curtis has control.

Curtis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Curtis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Curtis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Farian.
Curtis loads up on a big right hand but Farian slips the punch.

Curtis throws a solid leg kick but Farian takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Curtis.
Farian looks to score with a jab to the body but Curtis is just out of range.
Curtis has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Curtis there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rasta Farian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Curtis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Farian scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Curtis doesn't seem bothered though.
Rasta Farian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Farian comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Curtis throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Curtis looks to land a left hand but Farian moved out of range nicely.
Curtis closes the distance and clinches up with Farian, looking for a takedown. Curtis pushes Farian against the cage but Farian circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Farian lands with a hook. Curtis tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Farian uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Curtis.
Curtis takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Farian lands with an uppercut that bounces Curtis off the cage and back into range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Curtis, as that shot connected.
A looping hook to the body misses from Farian. Curtis does a little dance to reset his feet.

Curtis throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Farian sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Curtis doesn't manage to clinch there - Farian circles away.
Curtis misses with an uppercut.
Curtis slips a straight right by Farian.
Curtis throws a lazy right hand but Farian sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Farian throws a nice looking combination but Curtis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A telegraphed right hand from Curtis misses the target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Curtis takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Curtis misses with a double jab.
Farian is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Curtis had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Farian lands with a cross.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rasta Farian will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Farian shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Curtis eats them both and turns towards Farian to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Farian connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Curtis momentarily.
Farian lands with a nice body punch.
Curtis lands with a hook. Farian tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
No luck for Curtis with that takedown attempt.

Farian takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Curtis tries to clinch up but Farian circles away and keeps his distance.

Farian gets tackled into the cage by Curtis. Curtis maintains the clinch.

Farian breaks the clinch.
Farian fails to land with a series of punches.
Farian getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Curtis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Farian scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Farian waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Curtis.
Farian is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Curtis.

Curtis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Farian looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Curtis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Curtis is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Farian is trying to escape and Curtis transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Farian is forced to tap! Nice work there by Curtis! Very nice indeed!
