PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glin Burman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Glin Burman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glin Burman!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A low kick from Burman misses

and Coleman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Coleman.

Coleman drags the fight down to the ground.
Burman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Coleman has his hands on Burman's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Coleman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Glin Burman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Coleman scores with a head kick. Burman tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Coleman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Burman on his heels. He'll look to pass Burman's guard now, I'm sure.

Coleman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Coleman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Burman can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
