Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Kowalczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolando Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia has chosen Sound And Fury - I've Got Rabies as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rolando Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kowalczyk throws a low kick, looking for Garcia's leg but Garcia calmly moves out of range.
Garcia fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kowalczyk is out of range.
Garcia takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Garcia looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Nice sprawl there from Kowalczyk as Garcia shoots in.

Kowalczyk has managed to clinch.
Garcia wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kowalczyk blocks the elbow strike.
Garcia can't find room to land a body shot as Kowalczyk controls the action.

Garcia pulls Kowalczyk into guard.
Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kowalczyk missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kowalczyk postures up in Garcia's guard and throws a big left but Garcia blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kowalczyk is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kowalczyk stands and throws Garcia's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Garcia regains half guard.
Kowalczyk is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Kowalczyk distracts Garcia with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Garcia has an active guard here but Kowalczyk has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kowalczyk thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Garcia's head.
Garcia gets back to full guard.
Garcia looking for a sweep. Not yet Garcia, not yet.
Kowalczyk throws a big elbow that misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Garcia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kowalczyk working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Kowalczyk trying to control the position from guard on top but Garcia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kowalczyk has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kowalczyk is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Garcia is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Garcia is looking to sweep but instead, Kowalczyk has passed into half guard.
Kowalczyk is keen to just control but Garcia is a slippery customer.

Kowalczyk scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Garcia manages to get to full guard.
Garcia manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kowalczyk manages to get himself to full guard.

Garcia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kowalczyk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kowalczyk wants to sweep but no luck.
Garcia throwing strikes but missing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Garcia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Garcia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kowalczyk is keeping the position for now.
Kowalczyk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Viktor Kowalczyk will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Garcia lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kowalczyk backs up against the cage.
Kowalczyk misses with a low kick.
Garcia connects with a jab.
Garcia lunges at Kowalczyk with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kowalczyk's hand.
Garcia misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Garcia. Kowalczyk does a little dance to reset his feet.

Kowalczyk gets caught flat footed, as Garcia shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kowalczyk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Garcia.
Garcia is looking to work some ground and pound but Kowalczyk has wrist control.
Kowalczyk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Garcia with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kowalczyk throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Garcia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Garcia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Garcia throws an elbow that misses. Kowalczyk uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Garcia's guard. Nice move by Kowalczyk!
Kowalczyk wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving.

Garcia is looking for a triangle but Kowalczyk pushes his legs off easily.
Rolando Garcia has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kowalczyk lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kowalczyk postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kowalczyk scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Garcia keeping moving, preventing Kowalczyk from controlling successfully.
Garcia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kowalczyk is one step ahead there.

Garcia looking for a triangle here. Kowalczyk is fighting it but it looks tight! Garcia pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kowalczyk is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Rolando Garcia!
