Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Sheridan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Griffin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Sheridan!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheridan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Griffin.
Griffin misses with a wild body shot.
Jab by Sheridan.
Sheridan moves into range and connects with a jab.

Sheridan cracks Griffin with a big right hand and Griffin goes down!


Griffin is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Griffin throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Oh Griffin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sheridan passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sheridan trying to control the action but Griffin is working from the bottom.
Sheridan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Griffin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Griffin seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Griffin flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Sheridan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working.
Griffin is holding on to half guard well.
Griffin strikes from the bottom but Sheridan passes into mount!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sheridan avoids the attempt from Griffin to control.
Griffin is trying to escape the mount.
Griffin is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Sheridan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Griffin to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Griffin shrugs it off.
Sheridan works his way to his opponent's back.
Griffin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Sheridan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Griffin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Griffin strikes from the bottom but Sheridan passes into mount!
Sheridan wants to control the pace but Griffin is squirming around nicely.
Sheridan avoids the attempt from Griffin to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Griffin is looking to get to half guard.
Griffin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Griffin tries to get out of the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sheridan wants to control the pace but Griffin is squirming around nicely.
Griffin is trying desperately to improve position.

Sheridan with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Griffin tries to hold on but Sheridan postures up.
Griffin has given up his back.
Griffin is trying to break free.

Sheridan has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Griffin is defending well but eventually Sheridan manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Griffin has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ben Sheridan!
