Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, John Mcnain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Just Michael! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcnain works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Just Michael has been cut. Michael tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mcnain swivels and escapes. Michael takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Michael looks gassed! Mcnain drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Mcnain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Michael, who protects the arm well. Mcnain looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mcnain tries to score with some ground and pound. Michael controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Michael parries the strikes from Mcnain easily there. Mcnain is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Michael to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcnain is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Michael has escaped the position, nice work there. Michael wants to get back to his feet but Mcnain drags him back down. Michael is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Mcnain has knee on belly and moves into mount. Mcnain lands a heavy elbow. Mcnain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mcnain throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Michael because Mcnain loaded up on that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcnain is in the full mount, landing strikes. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mcnain lands with some strikes.
That has opened up Just Michael's cut even more. Michael tries to lock up and control but Mcnain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Mcnain scoring with strikes but Michael is staying in there.
Just Michael's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Just Michael's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). John Mcnain!
