Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sack Hitch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Lance Rock! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rock misses with a two punch combination.
Rock clobbers Hitch with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Sack Hitch has been cut. Rock moves in looking to clinch but Hitch pushes him off. Rock tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hitch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rock's guard now. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This has been an exciting period of action! The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Hitch trying to control but Rock is working from the bottom. Hitch drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rock looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rock looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rock! Hitch is breathing heavily. Hitch is not content to let Rock control the position. Rock taking a breather here. Hitch is trying to control Rock's posture but Rock avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rock wants to control but Hitch is keeping him busy. Rock controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Lance Rock hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rock cracks Hitch with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hitch looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Rock finish him?
Hitch is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Hitch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rock as he avoids it easily. Oh Hitch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hitch walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Rock! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
