PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Mcgillicutty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Mcgillicutty told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyka takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Boyka swings for the body but Mcgillicutty moves out of range.
Boyka tries for a takedown but Mcgillicutty circles away easily
and Mcgillicutty counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
A punch combination from Mcgillicutty misses.
Boyka shoots in for a takedown but Mcgillicutty shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mcgillicutty slips a straight right by Boyka.
Boyka lands with a kick to the temple. Mcgillicutty shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Mcgillicutty pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Boyka back to the cage. Mcgillicutty follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

That kick from Boyka tenderised Mcgillicutty's leg. Mcgillicutty is trying to keep his angry face on.
Boyka catches Mcgillicutty with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Boyka takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Boyka shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mcgillicutty defends it nicely.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Boyka enables Mcgillicutty to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Boyka manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Oh Boyka is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Boyka wants to stand and escape but Mcgillicutty is having none of it.

Boyka tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mcgillicutty lands with a hook. Boyka tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mcgillicutty wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mcgillicutty lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Mcgillicutty connects with a combination that backs up Boyka into the cage. Mcgillicutty lands a flurry of punches that gets past Boyka's guard. Boyka is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Mcgillicutty bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
