Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Godick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Godick comes to the cage accompanied by Momma said knock you out. Nelson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Supernatural Warning. Steven Nelson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Godick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Nelson! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Nelson. Godick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Nelson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Godick controlling his opponent. Nelson wants to control but Godick is having none of it. Godick controlling from the full mount. Nelson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nelson is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Godick tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Godick stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Godick tries to clinch but Nelson is having none of it. Nelson is looking to clinch but Godick is avoiding it.
Nelson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Godick manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Nelson trying to control the position from guard on top but Godick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Nelson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Godick is proving hard to escape from. Godick keeping moving, preventing Nelson from controlling successfully. Godick on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Godick tries to get out of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steven Nelson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Godick feints and as Nelson raises his hands in defense, Godick changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Godick wants to pass the guard but Nelson is keeping the position. Nelson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Godick would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Godick sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nelson's guard. Nelson works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Godick wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving. Godick seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Godick is fighting to break Nelson's control of his arms but Nelson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Godick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nelson is keeping the position for now.
We're going to have a standup here because Randy Godick wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Godick stuffs the takedown attempt from Nelson. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet.

Nelson shoots in looking for a takedown but Godick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nelson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Randy Godick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Nelson. Godick has Nelson up against the cage in a clinch.

Nelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Godick but Godick pushes him off and we're back to square one. Godick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nelson was covering up waiting for the punch and Godick finishes the takedown easily into guard. Nelson keeping full guard, as Godick tries to pass. Godick lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nelson wants to stand but Godick is controlling the position. Randy Godick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Godick slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Nelson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Godick is one step ahead there. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Godick throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Godick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nelson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Godick stands up from Nelson's guard - Godick perhaps looking for a knockout. Godick shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Nelson wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson gets full guard. Godick trying to control but Nelson is working from the bottom.

Nelson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Godick kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nelson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Godick throws a big right hand that misses.
Steven Nelson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Godick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Randy Godick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nelson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice takedown defense from Nelson. No joy for Godick on that attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nelson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nelson wants it to stay on the feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nelson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Godick is trying to control the action in half guard but Nelson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Nelson holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Godick wants to pass the guard but Nelson is defending well. Nelson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Godick is looking to advance position but Nelson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Godick is squirming around, avoiding Nelson's attempts to control the action. Nelson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Godick's face.

Godick is looking to improve his position but Nelson isn't that keen on the idea. Nelson punching from mount but Godick doing a good job of avoiding damage. Nelson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Godick is looking to escape. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nelson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
