Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Hardie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evan Hardie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bubba Jenkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Evan Hardie!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins shoots in and drives through. Hardie sprawls well.
Hardie shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jenkins eats them both and turns towards Hardie to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Bubba Jenkins has been cut.

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jenkins wants to pass the guard but Hardie is defending well.
Jenkins stops Hardie from getting back to his feet.
Jenkins not doing much here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hardie is trying to stand up here but Jenkins is controlling him well.
Jenkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hardie on the ground.
Hardie trying to hold on to Jenkins's head to control him but Jenkins postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hardie scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jenkins scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hardie wants to control but Jenkins is keeping busy.

Jenkins scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Jenkins is thwarting Hardie's attempts to control the position.
Jenkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hardie's head.
Hardie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jenkins is working away from the top position though.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hardie wants to improve his position but Jenkins is controlling well.
Well, if Jenkins is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jenkins drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jenkins is looking to advance position but Hardie has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
You get the feeling that Jenkins really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hardie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jenkins is looking to escape.
Hardie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jenkins kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jenkins is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Jenkins trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Hardie unloads with some shots from mount but Jenkins bucks and avoids them well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jenkins somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hardie dives in and grabs Jenkins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes down on Hardie's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Jenkins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hardie throws a head kick but Jenkins moves out of range.
Jenkins shoots for a double leg takedown but Hardie sprawls well. He's pushed Jenkins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hardie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jenkins.

Jenkins shoots in and bounces Hardie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hardie is on top in guard.
Hardie wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.

Jenkins on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jenkins tries to get out of the position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jenkins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jenkins wants it to stay on the feet.
Hardie lands a nice hook to Jenkins's body. Jenkins takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jenkins checks a low kick from Hardie.

Hardie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jenkins.
Bubba Jenkins is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jenkins dives in and grabs Hardie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hardie pushes down on Jenkins's head and hops out.

Jenkins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jenkins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Nice sprawl there from Hardie as Jenkins shoots in.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Bubba Jenkins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hardie wants to control but Jenkins postures up.
Jenkins remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Jenkins seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hardie for as long as he can get away with.
Hardie can't do much from the bottom here.
Hardie takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Well Jenkins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
