Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joh Jah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Melvin Manhoef!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manhoef misses with a low kick.
Manhoef misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jah fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Manhoef, pushing him back against the cage.
Manhoef is trying to force a seperation but Jah has the dominant position.
Jah scores with a shot to the side of Manhoef's head.
A frustrated look appears on Manhoef's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jah's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice sprawl there from Manhoef as Jah shoots in.
Manhoef lands with a nice combination. Jah backs away looking to recover.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Manhoef tried to score with a low kick but Jah checks it.
Manhoef cracks a nice hook into Jah's ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jah bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Jah seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Manhoef trying to remain calm as Jah controls from the top position.
Sloppy strikes there by Jah.

Jah wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Manhoef, who protects the arm well.
Jah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Manhoef keeps working.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Manhoef can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jah looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Manhoef is avoiding damage well.
Manhoef is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jah is controlling him well.
Jah misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Jah will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jah moves into full mount!

Jah is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Manhoef is surviving well by controlling Jah's body position as best he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jah controlling his opponent.
Jah lands a nice shot to the head.
Jah takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jah has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jah looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jah raining down shots from the mount!
Manhoef really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jah. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jah lands with some strikes.


Manhoef is rocked!

Oooh a big shot lands for Jah! Manhoef is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joh Jah!
Joh Jah gave a mention to Global Nutritional ACME (Q157) 90% ROR on Laundry in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
