Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maciej Jewtuszko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Reid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jewtuszko kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sobota-Z Buta Wjeżdzam (Instrumental). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Maciej Jewtuszko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Reid! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reid instigates a clinch. Jewtuszko jumps guard but Reid stands there with Jewtuszko around his waist. Jewtuszko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Reid should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jewtuszko is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Reid gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Reid lands an elbow that stopped Jewtuszko in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Maciej Jewtuszko has been cut. Reid lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Jewtuszko tries to pull guard but Reid won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Maciej Jewtuszko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jewtuszko tries to land a knee to the head but Reid blocks with his arms.
Reid's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jewtuszko looks for a takedown but Reid sprawls well. Reid misses with a two punch combination.
Reid takes the fight into the clinch. Reid successfully pulls guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reid manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Reid looks gassed! Jewtuszko scores with a head kick. Reid tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Reid moves into the clinch successfully.
Jewtuszko wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jewtuszko jumps guard but Reid stands there with Jewtuszko around his waist. Jewtuszko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jewtuszko tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reid just stands there and leans against the cage. Reid trying to land knees to the body.
Reid manages to break the clinch.
Jewtuszko staying out of range there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jewtuszko throws a right and a left that both miss. Reid moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. With the fighters up against the cage, Reid throws an elbow but misses. Jewtuszko has had enough of the clinch but Reid keeps him there for the moment. Reid breaks the clinch.
Jewtuszko scores with a kick to the body.
Jewtuszko lands a head kick. Reid smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Jewtuszko tries to clinch up. Jewtuszko throws a head kick that Reid semi-blocks.
Jewtuszko throws a sloppy head kick and Reid moves out of range easily. Jewtuszko lands a big head kick that sends Reid to the canvas! Jewtuszko follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maciej Jewtuszko! Maciej Jewtuszko bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
